Engineer Appointments to State Boards

 

Tennessee Board of Architectural and Engineering Examiners (4-year term)

– Engineer Members 
TCA 62-2-201 et sec – appointment to be made from a list of nominees submitted by the representative professional engineering society of the state, from each grand division  (4-year term); requirements: licensed for 10 years, in responsible charge of work for 5 years, US citizen, and TN resident for 5 years

East – Bob Campbell, PE (term expires 6/30/07)

Middle – William J. Stockard, PE (term expires 6/30/08)

West – Phillip Lim, PE (term expires (6/30/09)

 

– Associate Engineer Members
TCA 62-2-201 et sec – appointment to be made from a list of nominees submitted by the representative professional engineering society of the state, from each grand division (4-year term); requirements: licensed for 10 years, in responsible charge of work for 5 years, US citizen, and TN resident for 5 years

East – Carlton Norris, PE (term expires 6/30/08)

Middle – Raymond White, PE (term expires (6/30/09)

West – Dennis Henderson, PE (term expires (6/30/07)

Board member qualifications set by ACEC and TSPE
o       Nominees must have performed engineering services regulated by the A & E Board during their careers (prepared documents and affixed his/her PE seal)
o       Nominees must provide resumes

 

Tennessee Air Pollution Control Board
TCA 68-201-104 – a registered professional engineer as defined in TCA 62-2-101 who shall have at least 5 years’ experience in the field of air pollution control (4-year term)

The Air Pollution Control Board is a quasi-judicial board that meets 10 times a year.  They establish rules and regulations governing air quality and emission standards; they establish a system of permits and a schedule of fees and plan reviews; they have oversight over air quality inspections; they hold hearings, issue orders and can institute legal proceedings to compel compliance with Tennessee's air pollution laws and rules.

Tennessee Highway Officials Certification Board (2-year term)
TCA 54-7-104 – appointment to be made from a list of 3 nominees submitted by the representative professional engineering society of the state (2-year term)

The Highway Officials Certification Board meets 3 times every 2 years to review the qualifications of all candidates, both elected and appointed, for positions as chief administrative officers of county departments which build and maintain roads.

      Sandra Knight, PE, Bradley County Engineer (term expires 6/30/07)

 

Tennessee Water and Wastewater Operators Certification Board
TCA 68-221-905 - The governor shall consult with the president of the TSPE to determine a qualified person to fill this post (faculty member of a college, university or state technical institute, whose major field is related to sanitary engineering)  (2-year term)
