A review course will be conducted by qualified, licensed PEs at the TN Engineering Center Board Room on Monday evenings (except Labor Day, when class will be on Sept 7), beginning in August. Required textbooks are PE Civil Reference Manual, Lindeburg (11th ed.) and Practice Problems for the Civil PE Exam, Lindeburg (11th ed.).

The Tennessee Society (TSPE) is cooperating with the Minnesota Society (MSPE) to offer Civil and Mechanical PE Exam Review Classes via live webinars. Members of TSPE may register at the member rate and participate at their own offices or homes if they prefer not to attend the live Civil PE exam review in Nashville.
Civil PE Exam Review
Course Description: This class meets for 11 sessions over seven weeks. Topics covered include concrete, construction, engineering economics (brief review), fluid mechanics, highway engineering, hydrology, mechanics of materials and IBC loads, open channel flow, soils and foundations, timber/steel design, waste facilities engineering. Civil Course Dates are: 9/2, 9/7, 9/14, 9/16, 9/21, 9/23, 9/30, 10/5, 10/7, 10/12, and 10/14. These are subject to change. A final schedule of dates and corresponding subjects will be mailed to all confirmed participants with course materials. Classes will generally meet from 6-9 p.m. Central Time.
Civil Materials: The class will utilize textbooks published by Professional Publications, Inc. (PPI). Required are the PE Civil Reference Manual for the PE Exam, 11th Ed. (Lindeburg) and Civil Engineering Solved Problems, 5th Ed. (Lindeburg). Recommended but not required are the Civil PE Sample Exam, 2nd Ed. Topics covered include combustion, dynamics, engineering economics (brief overview) fans/ducts and compressible flow, fluids and hydraulic machines (two sessions), heat transfer, HVAC, machine design (two sessions), mechanics of materials and failure theory, power cycles, statics and mechanics of materials, and thermodynamics. Registration Deadline for Civil and Mechanical: Register by Monday, Monday, August 23 in order to receive course materials prior to the first class session. Registrations after this date may be accepted but receipt of course materials prior to the first class is not guaranteed.
Webinar Requirements for Civil and Mechanical: All Webinar sites must have a computer with Internet access. To use the VoIP audio option, your computer must have speakers. To speak using the VoIP option, a headset and microphone is required. Using the phone option, a land line phone is required (no cell phones). An LCD projector is suggested for sites with more than one student. See the PE and FE Exam Review Course Policies included on the registration form for more information.
Cost: The cost for each course is $600 for TSPE/NSPE members ($850 for non-members) or $60/members ($95/non-members) for individual sessions. These prices are per person.
