Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical PE Exam Review Courses

Fall 2014

**Registration deadline extended to August 13, 2014**

The Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers, in cooperation with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, will offer the Civil PE exam review course starting in August 18, 2014, at TDOT facilities across the state. If you know someone who is taking the exam on October 24, 2014, please pass this information along.

The course, taught by Professional Engineers using the Civil Engineering Reference Manual (Lindeburg 13th edition - published by Professional Publications, Inc.), will focus on the “breadth” portion of the exam and will include the following general topics covered during the morning part of the exam: Engineering Economics, Construction, Fluid Mechanics & Open Channel Flow, Hydrology & Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment Facilities, Geotechnical, Concrete Design, Mechanics of Materials & Timber Design, Steel Design, Transportation-Capacity Analysis, and Transportation-Geometric Design.

Seismic and land surveying will not be covered in the review course, as they are not covered on the "breadth" part of the exam. If you would like to see the exam specifications, go to http://ncees.org/exams/pe-exam/ .

The class will meet every Monday evening (except Labor Day, when it will meet on Tuesday, Sept 2nd) from 5-8 pm CDT for 10 weeks. The instructors will offer a “live” session at TDOT’s Region 3 complex (Nashville), which will be simulcast to locations in Tri-Cities, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Jackson, and Memphis (based on people registering in each area).

Click here for the complete schedule and list of instructors. For Online Registration follow the link.  For registration by mail, click here.  To download six month free application, click here.

If you are already licensed as a PE and would like to sit in on some of the sessions as a refresher for PDHs, you may register for a single session (or more).

The cost will be $400 per person and will include TSPE membership free for 6 months (the application must be completed prior to the first class). Your registration and location will be confirmed.
