Controls Engineers

Jacobs Engineering has an immediate need for Controls Engineers in Oak Ridge, TN.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Create control architecture drawings, control sequence drawings, P&IDs, and specifications

  • Perform calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial and commercial applications

  • Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects

  • Ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements

 

Training and Experience

 

Experience in HVAC controls systems design desired. BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.  PE registration desired. Knowledge of DCS to control multiple HVAC systems, P&ID generation, control sequence generation, I/O control documents, International Building Codes, and DOE requirements for confinement zone ventilation systems preferred.  Must have excellent writing skills and be AutoCAD literate.  Industrial and DOE design experience highly desirable.

This position will lead the traffic engineering practice in Nashville and assist in the continued development of a comprehensive selection of professional services in the Nashville office. This person will also assist other offices with current traffic engineering project demands. This position will help recruit additional traffic staff as needed as well as develop additional work in the Private Development and Public Traffic / Transit practice area.

Requirements: BSCE or related, Masters preferred. Eight years of relevant experience, five of which must be in management role. Candidate must have a Tennessee P.E. and/or PTOE registration or be able to obtain within three months of hire.
