2017-2018 Goals
We are committed to protecting the public health and safety.
To do this TSPE will:
Work with our legislators, the public, and other
stakeholders to promote the practice of engineering and
provide professional advice on issues that may affect the
publics health, safety, and welfare;
Advocate licensure to ensure the competent and ethical
practice of engineering within Tennessee; and
Engage our members in growing the organization.
We believe in and value the contributions that TSPE has made
to the engineering profession and strive to both improve and
expand its relevance into the future. To this end, we will:
Provide meaningful educational outreach programs for the
members, and those on track to become members, of our
profession;
Actively work to retain and involve our members by
engaging them in the activities of the society and engage
chapters across the state;
Work with the Chapters to provide programs when PE
certificates are presented to help retain young members;
Improve outreach to membership and students through social
media;
Engage students by continuing to support MATHCOUNTS and
also become the lead society supporting Lego League;
Develop legislation such that Tennessee has an official
Engineers Week;
Work with students and support programs aimed at science,
technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to ensure
the future of engineering; and
Actively recruit members and Partners who are
committed to supporting TSPE in its
